Some things are best forgotten: Neha

Neha Dhupia is in a mood to move on. But are moulds easy to cast off?
Some things are best forgotten: Neha
doweshowbellyad=0; Neha (TOI Photo) More picsNeha Dhupia says that she loved Taare Zameen Par and would have loved to be a part of it, except for the fact that she’s “too young to play the mother!” And she insists that the forthcoming Mithya will showcase her best performance so far.
Neha seems to have moved on from her dare-bare act in Julie and clearly is in no mood to dwell upon the past.
1x1 polls
“I don’t look back with regrets. One must take things lightly, after all, we are entertainers and acting isn’t rocket science. The trick is, not to take criticism to the heart or analyse things too much,” says Neha. On hindsight, Neha says that “sometimes films don’t turn out the way they were envisioned on paper. And when that happens, one must just forget the entire episode.”
So did she take kindly to the critics who reported that she had put on so many kilos and their scathing remarks on her performance in Ek Chalis Ki Last Local? Neha says scathingly, “Everyone’s entitled to their opinion. Sometimes it is their opinion that fetches them their daily bread. All I can say is, I have always been a health conscious person and work hard to keep fit. I am not delusional either when I say that I have a natural sense of style and I am usually impeccably dressed.”
Neha says she isn’t affected by unkind remarks or gossips, and says tongue-firmly in cheek, “Ritwik and I share exactly the same relationship that we did before. Everyone’s free to interpret it as they want.”
At the moment, her priority is to do “stuff that appeals to me. There’s so much happening in Bollywood and I want to be a part of the excitement.” So is it a clear no to doing special appearances or bit roles a la her appearance in Heyy Babyy? “That film was different. I was just doing things for a friend, having fun on the way,” clarifies Neha. She says her pairing with Ranvir Shorey in Mithya is both “unusual and exciting. We have some great chemistry between us.”
And in the midst of all of this, Neha tries to unwind by watching movies. “In Mumbai, one can’t really do much with a free hour on hand. Whatever you do, you will get caught up in traffic. I try to read and besides that, I have a house to run...”
It’s still a tad difficult to picture the oomphy Neha running a house. She still conjures up an image of a woman who would rather do something more adventurous! Perhaps, it is to do with her screen image, some moulds are always hard to break.
